Lt. Edward M. Prescott

BENNINGTON The life of Retired State Police Lt. Edward M. Prescott, a former resident of Barre and Essex Jct., will be honored on Friday, May 27, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. He died December 4, 2015 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. Interment with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Navy will follow at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Veteran's Home Activity Fund, 325 North Street, Bennington, VT 05201 or The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.

In my (VSP Academy) class of 68 Ed was our leader. He was respected for his knowledge, compassion and humor (we gave him reasons to laugh). I have fond memories of Ed and we are all the better for his presence.
