Elizabeth "Joey" Grover 1932 - 2009 BENNINGTON Elizabeth "Joey" Grover, 76, a former resident of Brookside Apartments, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Crescent Manor Care Centers where she had resided for the past year and a half. Born on Nov. 23, 1932, in Mount Holly, the daughter of Harold and Esther Bump Grover, Joey grew up in South Shaftsbury and attended school there. For many years, Joey worked at the Polygraphic Company in North Bennington and later at Tansitor Electronics. Joey resided for many years with her sister and brother-in-law, Madelyn "Johnnie" and Francis Costantino. In later years she lived at Brookside Apartments. She enjoyed reading, "find a word" puzzles, and was a big fan of soap operas and television in general. She leaves two sisters and a brother-in-law, Hilda Tobie of Rochester, N.H., and Johnnie and Fran Costantino of of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Joe Slavis of Hoosick Falls and many nieces and nephews of whom she was extremely fond. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Slavis and Dorlene Becker and by her step-father, Harold Rogers. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside committal services will take place Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at 11 a.m. at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elizabeth Grover's memory may be made to the Activities Fund at Crescent Manor Care Centers through the office of the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201. Joey's family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff at Crescent Manor who have been especially kind and great to her throughout her stay there.
