Geraldine "Gerri" Haskell
1945-2010 BENNINGTON Geraldine A. "Gerri" Haskell, 64, widow of Norman E. Haskell, a resident of Bradford Street, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Bennington Health & Rehabilitation following a long illness.
Born in Bennington, Nov. 27, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Bourn and the former Alice Abair Colburn, who survives. Gerri received her education in the Salem, N.Y. schools, and later attended McCann Beauty School in Troy, N.Y.
Gerri and Norm were married Mar. 25, 1968, in Pittsfield. Norm died July 19, 2009.
Gerri had been a devout member of Kingdom Hall, Jehovah Witnesses for many years.
Gerri enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.
She leaves her mother, Alice Colburn of Granville, N.Y.; her children and their spouses, Carrie and Thomas Woodard of Bennington, Brett Haskell of Lebanon, N.H., Norman Jr. and Carrie Haskell of Bennington, Travis Haskell of Victory Mills, N.Y., Jarrod and Valerie Haskell of Bennington, and Brice Haskell of Victory Mills; five grandchildren, Jasmine and Hunter Sherman, Jessica and Morgan Haskell and Lucas Haskell; seven brothers and sisters, Edna Lane (James) of Pownal, Barbara Wilkins (Joseph) of Salem, N.Y., Eugene Colburn of Granville, N.Y., Samuel Colburn (Dorothy) of Salem, Linda Mallory of Florida, Wendy Mallory (Rick) of Salem, and Judy Colburn Tuttle of Salem; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Gerri was predeceased by her step-father, Samuel Colburn, and by four sisters, MaryLou Bourn, Josie Green, Gail Devenow and Alice Colburn.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Friday, May 14, 2010 at 12 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.
Should friends desire, contributions in Geraldine A. Haskell's memory may be made payable to Mahar & Son Funeral Home in support of the family's needs. Guest book condolences may be made at www.maharandsonfuneralhome.net.
