To all Giles' family members,
I met and knew Giles from late 1963 through the middle of 1967. This was at a time when he was stationed at Fort Bragg. We became fast friends and he often stayed with me when he would come to Washington, DC where I lived at the time.
I lost contact with Giles after June of 1967. Moved on with my life and didn't give much thought to or of Giles until I was having lunch with some friends when the conversation turned to heroes. I asked a friend at the table to google Giles Pace. Everyone at the table were absolutely stunned that I could have a friend who had experienced so much life.
Sometime in 2010 a reporter for Stars and Stripes wrote a piece about Giles and that immediately raised my curiosity as to Giles' whereabouts. I discovered that Giles worked in construction for PAE. Calling PAE, I was told he was no longer with them and they believed he was living in Las Vegas. On a trip to Las Vegas I could find nothing to indicate he was there.
With a cousin of mine in town to visit who remembered Giles I wanted to reintroduce him to Giles through those stories of Giles on the internet. Looking for those stories I came upon Giles' obituary.
I feel for your loss

I would be happy to hear from any family member(s) who would like to reach me.

Dear Margaret and family. We lost touch with you and Giles over the past few years. I was shocked to learn of his passing. We were unaware he was ill. We are so sorry. He was a blessing to the world. Prayers to you and your family. Paul and Dee Woods
