Michael W. "Micky" Gdovin Jr. POWNAL Michael W. "Micky" Gdovin Jr., 45, of Jackson Cross Road died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation, following a long illness.Born in Meriden, Conn., on Aug. 10, 1963, son of Gertrude "Trudy" Doyle Gdovin and the late Michael W. Gdovin Sr., Micky received his education in Meriden schools. For many years, he had owned and operated MCG Scrap Metal in Pownal. He was an avid fan of drag racing. Besides his mother, Trudy Gdovin of Pownal, he leaves two sons, Michael W. Gdovin III of Sharon, Conn., and Kevin Gdovin of Canaan, Conn.; a grandson, Jordan Alan Gdovin; four sisters, Donna Church and Wendy Pomeroy, both of Meriden, Tammy Privizzino of West Hartford, Conn., and Brenda Martin of York, Pa.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial services celebrating the life of Micky Gdovin will be held at the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, March 6, 2009, at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Should friends desire, donations in Michael W. Gdovin's memory may be made to Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201. Aunty Trudy and Family, I am so sorry about Micky I know how hard it is to loose someone in such a distressing way as cancer. i pray there will be a cure someday so there would be no more loved ones lost to such a (monster)of a illness.We just have to keep in mind of the wonderful place he is now with no pain or worries.I am thinking of you all and hope things will be ok. love dee dee

Mickey was always a free spirit, who always verbally expressed his love and passions in life. His smile is contagious. Mickey has been in my thoughts, travels and heart since I was 15. May you have comfort knowing that he had goodness and love in his heart.
