Dearest Susan: In talking with LaJuan I just learned of your mom's passing. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I never knew your mom but judging from the kind of person you are...she must have truly been an amazing person. May God send the Angels to comfort you and your family now, and in the days to come.

We were not related by blood, but you were a true Aunt, as I've known you since I was 18 months old. You were a cherished part of Mommy's and my life with your loving common sense and wisdom. We were blessed to have you and the girls in our lives. You once said your two favorite animals were the elephant and birds - one for its solid, down to earth quality and the other for its beautiful soaring spirit.
You will always be a part of me, dear Aunt Miriam.
Love always
Rosey

I remember meeting my husband's "Aunt" Miriam for the first time when we began dating. I was so taken with her beautiful white hair which seemed, quite fittingly, like a halo for she was so amazingly kind, loving, and had the most infectious laugh. Through the years, she continued to touch me with her generosity of spirit, endless energy, wit and wisdom. I simply loved her. My husband and I will miss her and we send our heartfelt condolences to her three beautiful daughters and all her grandchildren.

I still remember first meeting Miriam when I was only 5 years old and her daughter, Susan, and I went to kindergarten together in Italy! From then on, Miriam's family and ours became so close that we called her "Aunt Miriam" and her beautiful daughters became our "cousins". I have wonderful memories of our families getting together throughout the years--years filled with happy times at the lake in Ringwood and, after that, visits with Miriam wherever she was living. She was always kind, generous, and wise. I am so happy that we saw her in Louisiana several years ago. May she rest in peace.
