Sam popped into my mind less than a week ago; I was remembering the tragic accident. Then I got this e-mail over the weekend. Remember that in his own special way, he touched a lot of lives; he will not be forgotten.

I'm so deeply sorry to hear of this tragic event. Always enjoyed seeing him. He was like a big brother/ friend for my grandson. He was such a wonderful kind person and was always such a good role model. I missed seeing him once he graduated. He will be missed by so many.

You are going to be missed by a lot of people including myself. We never got to spend a lot of time together. The time me did was always great. I will never forget your goofy laugh!Let your wings fly high!❤

I knew Sam while I was a substitute teacher in Sunderland from Spring 2004 to Spring 2009 - during his primary/ elementary years. He was a nice kid at school; I never had any trouble with him. (...and we all know how kids can give the subs a hard time!)
I bumped into him a few years ago (possibly at the Sunderland twins' music show at the Round House?) and saw that he had grown into a nice young man.
It's hard to imagine losing a child at the brink of adulthood, when he had so much promise to live a fulfilling life. I will pray for all the family members, that you may deal with your grief and remember the happiness that Sam brought to all of you. May he rest in peace.
Sharing in your time of sorrow. Respectfully,
Barbara Zakrzewski
