Floyd Henry Looper, 92, of Bismarck passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was born in Bismarck to the late Henry Clifton and Lizzie Mae Phillips Looper. Floyd was a Army veteran of World War II where he served in Okinawa with the 96th Infantry Deadeye Division and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a retired educator of 30 years from the Bismarck School District and was a member of the Beaton Christian Home Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyle, Wayne and Carl Looper, one sister, Hazel Small and a grandson, John Douglas.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Erma Looper, two daughters, Kitty (Ray) Barton, and Floy (David) Douglas, grandchildren, Tasha (Christian) Smith, Kristopher Barton, Karen (Greg) Chenault, and great grandchildren, Brianna and Shelby Dixon, Graham, Max and Avery Chenault and Bryant Barton, one sister Faye (Jim) Hinderhofer and a brother-in-law, Harold Borroughs.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 1, in the Beaton Christian Home Church with Pastor Gary Hardage officiating. Burial will be in the Beaton Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Friday till service time at the Church.
Memorials may be made to the Beaton Cemetery Fund.
