Elizabeth (Beth) Cooper
1920 - 2015 WEST HARTFORD CONN. Elizabeth (Beth) H. Cooper passed away after a full and active life, Feb. 14, 2015. She was born on July 7, 1920 in Pittsfield, Mass. to her late beloved parents, William and Elfrida Cooper. She was a graduate of Amherst College. Shortly after moving to West Hartford, she went to work for Aetna Life and Casualty. She retired from the Aetna after more than forty years of service in 1984. Beth was a dedicated volunteer and longtime member of Immanuel Congregational Church where she served as a Senior Deacon, was an officer on a variety of boards, served on many committees, and was a member of the Church Council. Beth had a love of art, theatre, and music; and traveled extensively across the U.S. and internationally. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Ellen Phelps and her husband, Bob, Daniel and Scott Cooper, and Dahna Clarke. She has five grand-nieces and nephews, Nico and Kristen Phelps, Kiefer Cooper and Sophie & Lily Clarke. The family will miss Beth very much. She is predeceased by her two dear brothers Robert and William Cooper and his wife, Mary; and close friend, Peggy Sherwood, whom she cared for in the last years of her life. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Congregational Church, 10 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105. Would like to send our love and prayers to Dahna and the whole family. I know Aunt Beth was a very special lady to you Dahn...and you to her. She lived such a full and loving life. She is certainly an inspiration for all of us.
