George W. Landry 1925 - 2012 ADAMS George W. Landry, 86, of 40 Commercial St., Adams, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Sweetbrook Health Care Center. He was born in Adams on Sept. 23, 1925, son of Hubert and Aldea (Filiault) Landry. He attended schools in Adams. He was a decorated veteran of the Army during World War II, where he was involved in five major campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge and the Crossing of the Rhine. He was employed as a mixologist at the former Mohawk Hotel in Adams. He was an avid billiard player. His wife, Julia (Busby) Landry, whom he married Sept. 26, 1970, died Aug. 24, 2006. Survivors include his four children, Beverly Lakin, Gary Landry, Janice Boyer and Peter Landry, all of Missouri; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanne Patricia Trabold of the State of Florida. He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister, Oliva, Hector, and Leon Landry and Emma Lawson. FUNERAL NOTICE: Private graveside services will take place in the family plot in Clarksburg Cemetery in the springtime. The FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA, is handling arrangements.
