Marybeth,Dowd Family, Thoughts and Prayers with you at this difficult time. Paul was a great man and father. He will be greatly missed by all. Now he is at peace and rest with his Rosie. Fond memories with you all.
I was 18 and bartending at the Madison. A place and time that holds plenty of memories. A place where it was one big family and Paulie fit right in as though he grew up on Seymore St. When Paulie decided to settle here in Pittsfield it was a decision that has made us all thankful. I can remember some Saturday nights and even some weeknights it was just him and I and how he would help me clean up and fill the coolers and when we finished we would sit and have a few more, especially if the Red Sox where still on. later in life Paulie helped me out again by helping my father get into Dana Farber. He was a wonderful man who will be truly missed. I`m sorry I missed the services. I wish you all the best and thank you for sharing your father with us.
I was lucky enough too meet, paul as we knew him then, as Rowdey, dowdy, with his big irish self, I caught for him when I was in high school playing ball, he was all done playing ,but I can still feel my glove hand, pounding, with a sponge in the glove, I later had a few suds with him & the old gang at the Madison, quite a crew, then he started too get sick, he never changed, wish he became mayor,, he was one hell of a guy,,,,, my prayers & thoughts with is entire family,,,
