We were surprised to hear of Hals passing. Frank & I talked about going to see you both between Thanksgiving & Christmas. We knew he was bad when he E- Mailed Frank & said ,"thanks for being friends & would not be on the computer anymore". He also , said " that he felt like sleeping all the time" We should've known & seen you both sooner. The end of Oct. I was dropping lits off to houses for campaign & stopped at your house- knocked at the door, but no answer. You & Your family have our deepest Sympathy.

Joanne and Matthew, I'm so sorry. Hal was one of the best things about this neighborhood and about this community. You couldn't find a more generous, kind man. I hope I will always remember the glow on his face when he slowly walked one of his elderly rescued boxer dogs around the block. His meticulous yard work - leaf raking, snow removal, you name it - was a wonder to behold. We knew this was coming, but I am so, so sad that Hal is no longer in our world. Luckily, he is now surrounded by loving dogs who have been waiting to greet him. I feel lucky to have known him, and I send you my best love and deepest sympathy.
