Helen Cole was my grandmother. I started calling her every Sunday in my 20's until she could no longer talk on the phone. I loved our weekly talks and treasured her advice and the smile I always had on my face as we hung up. As she got older she would make a list of what we were going to talk about each Sunday and when I would call she would first say “let me go get the list” she would return with a list of topics that we would talk about or things she had thought about during the week . . . and I never hung up until we checked off each topic on the list. She was a very strong woman and I thank her for my backbone, she was sensible and smart, she was a real hard worker and a perfectionist, she was a great cook and a food pusher, she made a great apple pie! . . . and signed all her cards with many xo's . . . and when she hugged you it was clear how much she loved you because you could feel it right through the hug.
I loved that woman. XOXOX to you Grannie
