Dear Debbie, David, Donna, and Deanne,

As your mother's neighbors it was pleasure knowing her over the years. I came to know her of a person of strong faith but also one of true kindness and generosity. I can honestly say that I and my family will (and do) miss her much.

God's love and peace to you all.

Debbie, David, Donna, and Deanne-

Your mom was amazing! Always a smile on her face. She had an inner strength to raise all of you, work at the high school, plus her other involvement in the community. What a special person. Hold on to your memories and special times you all shared as a family.

David, Debbie, Donna, Deanne:

The Congregational Church of Adams has not been the same since Joan Manners was not able to attend the services. She contributed so much to the music of the church, being the organist and choir director. She would fill the sanctuary with loud, glorious sounds of the organ every Easter and other days. She was a lovely lady who will be greatly missed.

In the spring of 1971 I was hired by the Mt. Greylock School District. I took a trip to Williamstown from North Carolina (where I was attending Graduate School). I needed to find housing so that I wouldn't need to make a second trip to Williamstown. Joan was a GREAT help to me. She made phone calls to many people to see if anyone knew of an affordable place. By the end of the first day, she had found me just the right place! I taught at Mt. Greylock for 10 years -- Joan made every year easier for me because of all the help she was to me. In more recent years I saw Joan at Faithlift, a Women's Bible conference. She was always interested in what I was up to, and was a great encouragement to me. I moved to Colorado in 2003. Joan has sent me Christmas Cards every year and emailed me often. What a dear friend she has been to me.
