I feel as though I lost a brother. It started with when he and I met at St. Joseph's. His Mom & Dad, and sisters and brother welcomed me into their family as if I were one of their own.
I have wonderful memories of many visits at their Eagle street home and his Readsboro visits .
The relationship continued throughout the years. I will miss our phone call chats just to say hello and catchup with our lives. We would always close by saying we loved each other, and would continued the practice of including each other in our daily prayers.
I will be for forever thankful for having the likes of Joe, and his family in my life.
My heart and prayers go out to you all. Love, Al Scaia

Dear Ginny, Fr. Jack & Family
Having heard so often of Joe's
wonderful qualities & sense of
Faith & love for Justice, I feel like I've known Joseph Hayes Koonz, Jr. for many years. As the Scriptures tell us, his good deeds accompany him. I am certain that Joe now rests in the arms of the Good Shepherd who guided him all the days of his life, and has called him home to rest in Peace beside Mary Ellen & Joe Sr.and Therese his parents, and all of his family who went before him, to receive the Crown promised to all the Faithful as they enter the Kingdom prepared for them.I will celebrate and offer three Masses for the repose of his soul and for the intentions of all his family. Joe, may you now Rest in Peace until the day that you welcome each one of us to join you in the Heavenly Kingdom.
