As the days of preparing for the loss and the days of preparing after the loss have gone away, I find myself missing my Mom more and more. I hope, at the end of the day, you were proud of me as your daughter; our days were not always easy, but I never stopped loving you. It recently occurred to me that you were the one person who knew me better and longer than anyone else in the world...some days I wish we could go back and do things the "right" way, but I hope you knew that I always loved you. Be my guide now and watch over my grandangels that went to the light before you...may you be loved and hugged by them now. Ditto, Mom, Ditto

We are sorry to hear of the loss of Kit. She was you mother, my step-mother, your grandmother, your great-grandmother, your aunt or cousin. She was the wife of your fathers, my father, too, and she braved the battle of her life, which has now allowed her to be with all the angels that watch over your family. As the holidays draw near and you are missing her, just close your eyes. She will be there. Celebrate her life !

Nature

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.
