I had the privilege of meeting Louise in her later years and had the opportunity to listen to many of her stories of her upbringing in Germany and she often showed me pieces she recently wove or paintings that her father had left her. She was a shy, reserved woman who often stated that she wish she met more people. However, her company was great and warm and she always made me smile. I recall the first time that I met her, she sent me home with a beautifully hand woven bookmark because she said all avid readers need a unique bookmark to track their reading.

She was so humble and spoke highly of her daughter and granddaughter during our visits and often mentioned how she enjoyed seeing their horses. She also always looked forward to the flowers her daughter delivered everytime she came to see her and she would proudly display them on her kitchen table. My last encounter with Louise was about six months or so ago and she was so proud to show me her new love; a senior cat that she recently adopted. She loved this cat so dearly and it truly brightened up her days. Mrs. Louise will always have a special place in my heart. May she live in the kingdom of God for eternal life in his glory..
