1941 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Thomas E. Viale Sr., 72 years old, of Hinsdale, formerly of 184 Newell Street, Pittsfield, died on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was born in Pittsfield on Oct. 7, 1941, and was the beloved son of Rose L. DeFelippo Viale and Alfred A. Viale, who both predeceased him. He attended Pittsfield public schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School. He was a veteran who served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for several years at the General Electric Company. He was last employed by the Cavallero Plastics Company of Pittsfield. He formerly was married to Mary Ellen Olds, who predeceased him and with whom he had two sons. He is survived by cousins and several close friends. He supported the Elder Services of Berkshire County. Tom will be deeply missed by many people and remembered for his favorite hobbies; fishing, classic cars, playing the guitar and electric organ. He was most passionate about music, especially old time rock and roll and country music. FUNERAL NOTICE: Relatives and friends are invited to participate in a graveside service on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Ann's Cemetery in Lenox, with the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, Pastor of St. Ann's Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Tom to Berkshire Music School Scholarship Fund, 30 Wendell Avenue, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Viale Family: Sorry to see of Tom,s passing. Had some good talks about hunting back in the day at Delgallo,s. Always a pleasure when I ran into him on the streets in Hinsdale. RIP Tom.
