Dear Ruth,

I just found out about Robert's death. I am sorry for your loss. During the three years I worked for Robert, I realized how much he loved practicing law and collecting stamps. He helped me learn more about the law and he always helped everyone who came to his office for legal aid. I will never forget when he let me take time off of work to go to Myrtle Beach with my family just before my mom died. My prayers are with you and Robert.

I first met Bob when we were in high school, he in Middletown, NY and I in Liberty, NY. We went on a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in 1951. We remained friends throughout our lives. I would visit him when I came every year to Great Barrington as a Voting Member of the American Institute for Economic Research.

I would also call him during the year. I wondered why he did not return my recent calls. Now, I know why.

His drive to live life to its fullest, regardless of his medical infirmities, was a true inspiration. I am truly saddened that the malacha movis decided to come and take him.

May his memory be a blessing for all that had contact with this remarkable human being. Cornell has lost a great alumnus, and I have lost a wonderful friend.
