MY MOTHER, MARIAN SCRIPTURE,GREW UP WITH RUTH. THEY MET AS LITTLE GIRLS AND REMAINED IN TOUCH THROUGH OUT THE YEARS. AS EACH GOT OLDER LETTTERS WERE NOT AS FREQUENT. AT CHRISTMAS I GOT A CARD FROM RUTH AND SHE SAID "NOT HEARD FROM YOUR MOTHER . IS SHE ALRIGHT?"
I REMEMBER VISITING FAMILY IN BANGOR AND MOM ALWAYS SEEING RUTH. THEY WOULD GO TO DINNER AND TALK AND GET CAUGHT UP ON NEWS. (THAT WAS 50 YEARS AGO)
I REMEMBER RUTH FOR BEING SOFT SPOKEN AND HER SMILE.

I was sorry to read about the passing of Aunt Ruth. She lived a long and meaningful life. I will always remember the time she personally delivered a copy of the Varney family genealogy to me while I was living in Vermont. Caring for the family was her priority always.

Sorry to hear about Aunt Ruth-she is the last of the Aunts & Uncles, Dads and Moms of the Gordon-Booker union. We now have to carry on the family name and become them-God Bless all of you at this time. There surely is a grand reunion in Heaven!!

I have to agree with Roberta, Aunt Ruth was a favorite on Dad's side for me as well. Even though we didn't see her often, she was always interested in how we were and what we were doing. I especially remember the years that I would pack my bag for a week in the summer at "The Farm" with Aunt Ruth, Uncle Mel and Robert. We would play the pump organ in the parlor, hunt for blueberries, and always have stories to tell when I got home. Good times. Love you, Aunt Ruth. Say hi to Dad and the rest of the family. You will be missed here.

I remember visiting with Ruth when I was attending Beal College. She would, on occasion, come to visit Mom & Dad (Ivan & Judy) and would show us her geneology books and history that she had worked so hard on. She was very kind and will be sadly missed.
