Elton A. Weaver, 95, of Big Spring died Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, in a local hospital.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at the Coahoma Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home.
He was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Coahoma, Texas. He married Shirley Ann Lancaster Oct. 18, 1978, in Las Cruces, N.M.
Elton was a lifetime resident of Howard County, and attended school at Center Point and Coahoma. He served in the United States Army with the 1st Calvary during World War II. After the war Elton worked for Indiana Arsenal for a period of time. He returned to Howard County to work at Webb Air Force Base in aircraft maintenance, retiring with 33 years of service. He then worked as a contract painter for several years. Elton enjoyed yard work and gardening, fishing and camping and especially his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Oasis Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lancaster Weaver of Big Spring; three daughters, Carol Broughton and husband Mark of Amarillo, Linda O'Neall of Trinidad, Texas, and Wanda Turner and husband Robert of Coahoma; three brothers, Curtis "Pete" Allen of Coahoma, Jerry "Bozy" Allen and wife Sandra, and Eddie Ray Allen and wife Tommie all of Llano; 10 grandchildren, Joshua Kiser, Kerri Jean Rosenbaum, Sarah Flemming, BaLinda Turner, Andy Baeza, Misti Russell, Jessi Kiser, Megan Offinga, Chris Bayes, and Bobby Bayes; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Weaver; his parents, Andrew and Mary Weaver; three brothers, Weldon Weaver, A.W. Weaver, and Arthur Weaver; four sisters, Marie Weaver, Eulene Sims, Mary Lou Edens, and Frances Capps; a son-in-law, Pat O'Neall; and two stepsons, Brobbie Bayes and Elgie Bayes.
The family suggests memorials to Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home, 1809 Hwy 87, Big Spring, Texas, 79720.

I'm not able to be at the service. My heart and prayers go out to the Weaver and Turner families, Elton was a very sweet man and always had a smile. I am happy to have known him. He is now at peace with the Lord above and will always watch over you. Love, Mary Grace Jackson
