TRIMM JR., ARCHIE CLIFTON 84, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at his home in Shelby, Alabama. Archie was born November 13, 1928 to the late Archie and Flora Mae Burrell Trimm in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1949 Archie joined the Navy and served on the USS J.C. Breckinridge until 1952. He was awarded the Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medals. He was married to Mary Ann Trimm until her death in 1999. Together they raised a family of seven children. Archie was a Sales Manager for Alabama Power, Birmingham District. He was the past President of the Kiwanis Club, Gardendale Quarterback Club and a Boy Scout Leader and member of the Energizers, Lay Lake Hobos and Historic Shelby Association. His retirement years were spent at his Farm in Morris and home at Lay Lake which he shared with his wife Charlotte Yakoumis. He is survived by his 6 children; John Clifton, James Douglas, David Michael and Jerry Allen Trimm; Patricia Ann Bradley and Kathy Denise Brasher; Grandchildren, Laura Sample; Matt and Jason Harbison; Neal and Justin Brasher; Kristi Lovell; Vince Bruno, Jr; Eric, Jessica, Kayla, Alyson and Allen Trimm; and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Edward Trimm, a veteran of the Korean Conflict missing in action and Purple Heart recipient and his daughter Carol Lynn Trimm and Grandsons, John Brandon and James Aiden Trimm. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at The Southern Heritage Funeral home in Pelham from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM. Graveside service at 1:15 at the National Cemetery in Montevallo. Service by Rev. Douglas Ford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alabama Kidney Foundation, Inc.
