Demetrice was one of a kind. She will truly be missed!!!
She called me her brother. You had to love how she always spoke her mind. I just found this news and not sure how to react; sad, shocked, sad. Demetrice; Thanks for brightening my life. You are missed and will always be missed. RIP.
To my friend from elementary school all the way through college and even after we kept in touch all the way up until death. I would always remember the telephone calls, letters, and visits. I will always cherish the memories that we shared together and our birthdays especially, the 23rd being mine and the 24th being hers. I will never forget you and I will always love you. Rest in Peace. Your dearest friend, Evelyn Williams Richardson.
May God be with the family. I have many memories of Faye that I will always hold dear.
With heartfelt sympathy, The Class of 1971, Abrams High School

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
This was such a suprise. My prayer go out for the family. Faye was one of my child hood friends, but we lost touch. I will forever remember and love her. May GOD continue to bless you all.

To the Family of Faye; especially, Joan,
I remember making the almost daily trips to Reed's Store to buy candy , chips , or nothing in particular, just to conversate with Faye and you about basketball, our favorite players ,or any topics that came to mind. We spent time in pleasant conversation until other customers entered the store ( sometimes my cue to go home) or we realized that we needed to stop chatterboxing so much. On the days that Rev. and Mrs. Reed were there , I would talk to them for a few minutes , tell them to tell you both, hello ; then, left.
I know you can't read this,Faye, but Thanks for the Memories and the joy of knowing and talking to you those many years ago.
The 6th and 7th Avenues' bond will last forever because of the Precious Memories of " You" which will linger forever on my mind and in my heart!
Rest in Peace, Dear Faye.
May God bless you , Joan , your siblings and other loving family members. We love You!

As you grieve know that we are remembering you and honoring the memory of Demetrice. These years seem to fly by like autumn leaves, but the heartache and tears remain. What we have left are precious memories of her, for today, tomorrow, and until our service to God in this life is through.
Faye was one of my "big sisters" my freshman year at Talladega College. She turned me on to Jean Nate cologne. I also remember that big smile and her guidance. My prayers are with you, the family. May you find peace in her legacy.
Like a bolt of lightening, this information of the death of my Talladega College Class Member of 1975 has left me speechless. The smile, the laughter, and the words of wisdom resonating from her lips would stay with me for hours. I can remember seeing her walking from Ish Hall to one of the building for class with some kind of words to a Kappa, Que, or an Alpha man. There was never a dull moment when you were in her company. I express my deepest sympathy to the Reed Family for your sister that was loved by many Talladega College classmates and students. May the God I serve continue to richly bless you as you deal with this great loss.
Baby sister, you entered my life on the tail end of my stay within the confines of the “family” but somehow we managed, in time, to connect and for that connection I am most thankful. Oh, I know for a certainty that these words you will not read but that's okay because I'm writing them to the memory of you I hold in my heart. While I'm sadden by your early and oh so abrupt departure I find solace in knowing that you are no longer in pain. As I always ended each telephone call I now end this message: I love you much.
To the family I say, “There's an open gate at the end of the road
Through which each must go alone;
And there is a light we cannot see;
Our Father claims his own.
Beyond the gate our loved one
Finds happiness and rest;
And there is comfort
In the thought
That a loving God knows best.”
Big Sister,
Ophelia S. Parker
