On this day, April 9, 2013, my cousin, GLORIA JEAN SMITH MILES, is being honored and remembered for the 72 years she spent living this life here on earth, and I join with everyone in spirit in celebrating her promotion to her Heavenly reward. She will be remembered for many things: Her love of God, family, & friends, and such a strong will/desire to live an independent, purposeful life. I praise God for her deliverance from all the afflictions she has had to deal with in the past, and is now completely FREE and at peace. I look forward to being reunited with her and other loved ones who have gone on before me. Heaven is sounding "sweeter" all the time, so I pray, "Come quickly, Lord Jesus"!
Loved this lady. Could always count on her to come by and see me when she came to Cherokee. Have seen her bravery in so many ways since I met her in 1980. She always had a positive outlook on life. I will never forget her voice and laughter. She was one of a kind! She was so proud of you and your family, Monica and loved you all so much. She will be missed!
Whenever I spoke with Gloria, her kind heart always would shine through even when she wasn't feeling well. Her unforgettable voice would always be quick to speak up and would give God the glory for giving her strength. The Hoover Senior Center will miss her!
Gloria, you were truly an inspiration for all of us. You accepted all of your ilness with dignity, grace, laughter and always a smile on your face. You will be missed.
Monica and family,my dear classmate Gloria was a light that beamed bright as the eternal optimist. She was a joy and an inspiration and having know her was a treasure.
I will miss you my friend. So many wonderful conversations over the years. I am praying for Monica, Jeff, and the children. But rejoicing that my friend is suffering no more!
You will be missed Gloria. I could always count on you to make me laugh.
Gloria was a sister to all of us, especially our sister Marthalene who died in Dec 2012. She was the Energizer Bunny and just kept going, with lots of laughter along the way. Love from the 2 Sisters in Tuscaloosa
