Barbara and family: I am so sorry for your lose. Calvin was an amazing man. I loved being at Westside when you guys were there.

Mrs. Miller, in 1983 I asked your husband to sign my Complete Works of Shakespeare because I didn't have any of his books. He did, reluctantly. Since my days at Belmont where he was a featured speaker, I have gathered several of his books. Each time my husband and I move from parsonage to parsonage, a framed copy of his poem to you, If This Be Love, is one of the last things I pack, and one of the first I unpack. He was a dear. I'm praying your memories will be sweet and your healing, swift.

Barbara,

I'm so sorry for your loss. The loss isn't only yours, but the church's as well.

You'll remember that for many years Dr. Miller and I worked together on a tape/CD product called Sound Truths, published by LifeWay. I have rich memories of times we spent together in the studio as I heard him teach with ease and with great expertise. He was a wordsmith in his writing and in his speaking. He painted a verbal picture as could few others.

I always knew him to be a man of humility, grace, and patience. And every time he spoke of you (and he did so often) he spoke of you with high praise, affirmation, and love.

Dr. Miller will be missed greatly. Thank you for sharing him with Southern Baptists and the church at large.

May God richly bless you and comfort you and your entire family during these difficult days.

I was a student in Dr Miller's preaching class at Beeson. The words of advice and encouragement that he gave me will always be remembered.

Dr. Miller was a guest speaker at the First Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in March, 2012 and again in July, 2012. I bought his books, The Singer and Letters to Heaven! What a remarkable man! I have told everyone about his books. He will be so missed! I am so happy I got to know him through his books! We are in deep prayer for his wife and family. Thank you for sharing your lives with us!
