My student and my very dear friend and fellow clarinetist. I will miss him more than I can say.

I enjoyed meeting Benny on several occasions of family celebrations and loved reading his story. I know flights of angels sang him home. Ellen, Ryan and Gaines be comforted by your memories and his namesakes, John and Bennet and Libby who probably loved him best!

The entire "current " 313th Army Band mourns the loss of Benny. We are currently doing one of the things he loved-Annual Training!

Benny was a great friend. He sponsored me with the Birmingham Track Club, talked me into playing the clarinet for my church at the time, and invited me to attend a Drum Corps International event with him where he was truly in his "element." I knew Benny when he was assigned to the 87th MAC and also as an outstanding employee with the Social Security Administration. Benny was consistently, compassionately, and forever a friend's friend. I believe the great force and energy of his life has now been transformed and will continue to be enjoyed - especially when listening and watching outstanding bands like the JSU Marching Southerners. My sincere condolences to his wonderful family.
