"I am fortunate to have been mentored and cared for by Mr. Stanley and the Stanley family. My condolences and gratitude for your friendship and love."

As a mentor and share group leader at church, Mr. Stanley was a great encouragement to me while I was in high school, but His influence carried far beyond that. His example as a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, & humble man of faith, modeled a God-honoring life well lived. I am truly blessed to have known Joe Stanley.

We will miss our friend Joe. He represented the best and noblest attributes of a purpose-driven life. Our Lord will say "Well Done!" to him.

When Hunter walked to the podium to deliver the eloquent tribute to his Dad, my eyes filled with tears and I got a lump in my throat - just how I feel when I see my sons. That heartfelt reaction is usually reserved for family and that is what the Stanley's mean to us -
family. Joe and Peggy have been gracious friends over the years and our son, Matt, has looked up to Joe ever since he and Hunter became friends in elementary school. We will be forever grateful to Joe for being a loyal friend and a positive role model for not only his children but ours and many others.

Peggy,
Joe and I attended Joe's service Tuesday and came away so encouraged and inspired. Encouraged that one life can make such a difference and inspired to try to have a positive impact on others, as Joe did. Hunter's words representing the family painted a beautiful picture of Joe that will long be remembered by those who heard them. As Gary Fenton shared Joe truly lived a life well-lived! What a joy to have know you and Joe and your family all these years!
