Carol Gerlach Pressley, 70, of Mills River went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 26, 2016 at Brian Center of Hendersonville after an extended illness. Carol was a resident of Henderson County for forty-five years. She was the daughter of the late Christian and Mary Gerlach, and was also preceded in death by her brother, Clair Gerlach.
Carol was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse for forty-nine years. She was born and raised in Lebanon, PA where she received her nursing degree in February 1967. Carol continued her nursing career in Hendersonville until she retired in 2014. She was an avid reader, loved baking and large family dinners. Carol loved traveling with her daughters and spending time with all her family and friends. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Katarina Behrens and her husband Chris of Mills River, Veroslava Galloway of Mills River; five grandchildren, Tasha, Bojana, Breeanna, Tiffany, and Christopher; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis Gerlach and his wife Kathy, and Mahlon Gerlach, all of Lebanon, PA; a sister-in-law, Ann Campbell of Dover, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Shuler Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Jones will officiate.
