Gary,
When we found out that you had passed, there wasn't much we could say. I hope you know that you are going to be missed by so many people! You were such a great man, amazing friend, and Mikey and I won't look at Supercross the same. May you Rest In Peace until we see you again!
Love always,
Mikey and Jesica

My friend Gary Coffey was a rare type of individual these days. He was more of a "throwback" to the time when a man's word and handshake were all you needed to know and you could count on any promise given being fulfilled.
He was also a person filled with the enjoyment of life, always ready to have an adventure, always ready for a prank or a laugh. We all benefited from his wit and candor and friendship.
Don't let us forget the accomplishments Gary achieved. He worked his way up the industry ladder (thanks Freddy Mac, Flip, Tim, and others) to become a highly successful industry rep. He was a great mechanic, a reasonably accomplished rider, and a general jack of all cards when it came to motorcycles. There was nothing he wouldn't ride or fix.
But most of all it was Gary's heart, soul, and personality that drew us all to him. That laugh and smile were just impossible to miss, you couldn't have a bad time around him!
Most of you will never know the way Gary was there for me at one of the lowest points of my life. That's okay, just know that I consider him a friend of the very highest order. I could trust him with anything. And I trust that when I go he'll be standing there going " Joey D. Come on in....." and all will be right.
