William Rosendale Obituary

William Lee Rosendale, 79, of Hendersonville, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Mission Hospital. He was born November 17, 1938 in Findley, OH to the late Ralph Rosendale and Edith Rosendale Hinnamon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Lois.

Mr. Rosendale, grew up in Hamilton, OH, before graduating from the University of Cincinnati. He moved to Brevard in 1977. He worked for Proctor and Gamble and Pitney Bowes before retiring from Glatfelter Paper Co. in 1998. During his work he held many patents and processes that are still in use today. He was an avid trap shooter who loved his church and his Airstream travels.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn H. Rosendale, son, Mike Rosendale, daughter, Jennifer Rosendale Banks and her husband Brian, Stepson Damon Brown and his wife Connor, stepdaughter Heather Wilson and his special daughter-in-law Jean Rosendale. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob, Luke and Noah Rosendale, Sarah, Meghan and Andrew Banks and step grandchildren, Rick, J.D. and John Pace.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Doctor Mark Ralls. A private family burial will be held.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in William's memory be mad to Care Partners Adult Day Services, 68 Sweeten Creek Rd., Asheville, NC 28803 or to Memory Care, 100 Far Horizons Ln, Asheville, NC 28803.
