While I never met the man, losing Bo was like losing your grandfather to me. Something about the way he conducted himself made you feel like you knew him even if you'd never met him.

I cannot begin to explain my profound sadness over the passing of Coach Bo. George “General Patton” Bo Schembelcher died today, a victor who valiantly fought heart disease and diabetes for many years. A great coach and mentor of so many, is gone at the age of 77. Coach Bo has taken his headset off for the last time and is now with God. I guess God wanted to watch tomorrow’s game with the number one Michigan Wolverine of all time! I bet Ufer has a cold waiting for him, too.

“At the main entrance to Michigan Stadium, two bouquets of maze and blue roses were stuck in the wrought-iron fence, some maize and blue balloons were tied near them and a sign was posted that said: “We will miss you Bo.”

And so will I…
