I'm shocked and saddened to hear about Bob's passing. He and his brother, Ken, were great pitchers. While I haven't seen them in a awhile it still troubles me to hear his passing at such an early age.

Bob Forsch was a boyhood idol of mine. I dressed up as him for Halloween in 1986 when I was 11. He talked to me like he was best friend for 30 minutes at Party With Former Cardinals Night at the old Busch. He also let me wear his 1982 World Series Ring. He was a class act. My condolences, he will be missed.

Bob Forsch was one of the best on the mound, great at pitching and fielding, and great at hitting, too. I still can see him faking a bunt. He could not have been nicer when we spoke at an Anheuser-Busch family day at Busch Stadium. He had it all; a great athlete and person. What a tremendous loss for all of us, especially his family and friends. God be with you all.

I grew up in St. Louis in the 70's and 80's. Bob Forsch was the pitcher I most remember and it is very sad news. Through John Denny, Silvio Martinez, and Lynn McGlothlin he was #1. In 1982 he was #1.
