Bernice Pearl Vollrath

Bernice Pearl Vollrath, 83, of Fulton was called to her Heavenly Home on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Fulton Manor.
She was born in Montgomery City, Mo. on January 29, 1932 to Jordan Hamilton Malicoat and Clara Mae (Dixon) Dudley.
On November 17, 1951, Bernice was united in marriage to Frank Vollrath. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2000.
Bernice was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She worked for 15 years as a Nurse's Aide at Kingdom Nursing Home. Prior to that, she worked at Mattingly's Department Store. Bernice was a member of the Kingdom Belle's Red Hat Society and the Ladies Auxiliary. Anyone who knew Bernice was aware that she had an affinity for purses and billfolds. Some of the most fun-filled family times were at Choteau Springs, Mo. with Aunt Irene and Uncle Freddie and those Pilot Grove wedding dances. Family was the most important thing to Bernice, from her own family to her extended relations.
She will be sorely missed by her daughters, Brenda K. Dirks (Jeff) of Webster Groves, and Carol Sue Waldrop of Ogden, Ut.; six grandchildren, Wesley Shane Winter (Michele) of Columbia, Jeremy Sean Winter (Ginny) of Lawrence, Ks., Kerri Denise Caro (Angel) of Phoenix, Az., Terri Danielle Roth (Nick) of Afton, Lance Corporal Jeffrey Miles Dirks, Jr. of Beaufort, SC, and Christopher Scott Dirks of Webster Groves; five great-grandchildren, Emma Mae Winter, Evan Alexander Roth, Andrew Michael Winter, Carter Louis Roth, and Jonathan Dean Winter; and cherished sons-in-law, Gary Winter of Columbia, and Karol McKinney of Tebbetts; special friends, Linda Jacober, Carol Owen, and Mary Ann Dove; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Bernice was preceded in death by daughters, Wanda Mae Winter and Mary Louise McKinney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fulton with Father Frank Bussmann officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with a Rosary being held at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in Martinsville Cemetery.
