I first met Boots in 1972 at his club and was amazed of his talent. A truly incredible sax player and a wonderful person. He has been a inspiration to my playing ever since.

I'M sorry to find out that Boots passed away. He was and is a great Sax player and he will surely be missed. I love playing along with him on my saxophone, I only wish I was as good as him. God bless your family.

A wonderful tribute to the greatest sax player I ever heard. I grew up listening to your music since I was 8 years old now I'm 50 and still listening. Thanks for the inspiration to play my sax. Boots'the next song will be for you.

Being somewhat of a saxophonist myself,I always said that if I could get to be just HALF as good as Boots, then I'd have something.God be with the Randolphs as I know they miss him dearly. We will all miss him.

My husband and I have known Boots for years and both loved him dearly. Boots helped us celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary many years ago and we had since become good friends. He laughingly said those many years ago, "We'll do this again on your 50th". How we looked forward to that, however, my husband went to heaven before that ever happened. But Boots remained a dear friend and always a true gentlemen. Once, after Gordy had gone, when he came to our town, he played "Stardust" for my husband, Gordy, and I. I shall treasure those memories forever. What a treasure!
I feel comforted as I am sure that my Gordy met him at the Heavenly Gates.
Sincerest sympathy to Dee and your whole family.

I always wanted to see Boots live and in concert. Now I will have to wait until I get to heaven. Anyone with that talent on the sax has got to be in heaven.

To The Family of "Boots" Randolph:
I was out of town when I heard of Boots' death. I recently have had the honor of producing a CD that highlighted Boots and other musicians from an earlier era. Great man to have known and to have worked with. He will be sorely missed. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time.

It is so nice to know that the 'one and only' Boots was loved by so many people..I have been a fan for over 30 years..he accepted a random phone call I made to his club one time (on a bet that he would not come to the phone)..we talked about the saxophone and music, and it was just like talking to someone you had always known..what a gentleman, and amazing saxophonist! There will never be another Boots..

Our sincerest sympathy to the family of the greatest sax player this planet has ever known. I was never honored to meet Boots, but I always wanted to tell him in person that he was an "American Treasure". We will miss him, but his music lives on as a legacy for generations of music lovers to come. May the Heavens enjoy our loss.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
