I was his next door neighbor for many years, and always enjoyed talking to him. He was a very nice man and had a great sense of humor. I'll miss seeing him when I'm in Newton.

Sorry to hear of Artie's passing. He was an old childhood friend, starting on White Place. Always had a smile and a story to tell. Shirley (Grennan) Donehey

Artie was an inspiration to all who didn't have his skills as a hockey player. He really stood out!!! I sat on the bench for a year or so and still appreciate being on that BHS team with some great guys who were far better than I was. We had a great run and who can forget the 5 period overtime loss to Malden Catholic in the playoffs. The Fire Dept has been blessed with a host of former athletes who served for long times as well as Jack Logan who lived in the 4 family house we did across the street from old Station 5 on Devotion St. Bob MacGregor, a fireman lived there also.

His family will be in my prayers.

Rest in peace, my friend.

Bob Johnson
