Patty was a great person. I was lucky enough to stay with her a couple of times and I thoroughly enjoyed her hospitality and conversation. Even though she spent most of her life in the US she continued to be loved by her extended Irish family. Suaimhneas síoraí di.

Brigid was an amazing part of my life. I know that she was there for me since I was little. From my being in a cradle to me having children, she was always around and involved!

She taught me how to set a table properly, warm the dinner plates, to make brown bread and Irish trifle, and her boeuf bourguignon recipe is a prized possession. Most of our relationship was centered around a meal. From the fancy dishes to an apres ski omelet - sometimes they were green, but they were always good.

She shared her sisters Mary and Tessie with me as well as her brother and all of her nieces and nephews who have been generous to host me when I travel. Brigid's friendship and the link to her family will be with me forever.

I can't do all the memories justice here, just know that I will miss you and thank you for everything.

Love,
Kate Stein

One of my best memories is building Brigid's camp in Fayston and suffering for many years for putting a stairway to the 2nd floor instead of a fireman's pole.
I will miss all of our good times in both Vt. and Ma.
