Mom was our matriarch, mother, and mentor. The leader of our family, she was a great mother to her children, as well as a mentor who taught us right from wrong among other values and traits. Her values and belief system were very clear. Always be honest and treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. Many would ask for her advice when they wanted an honest answer & she would give you the most straight answer without holding back her honesty. There was no questioning her integrity, she was the most honest woman I knew. Mom lived her life according to god's law and had a strong catholic upbringing. Mom loved to live life to the fullest.
She loved to travel and just plain have fun. She traveled all over this country and to many places around the world. ^ the Map of the US placed over there has a pushpins on each place she visited. Mom was always ready to go on an adventure when asked & would be ready at a moment's notice. She really enjoyed life. Mom had a laugh that would brighten up a room and become contagious. It was a distinct laugh and everyone knew Claire was in the building when she laughed. Holidays, birthdays, and all other events were never forgotten by mom. Even if she had to work 3 jobs to afford these events she did it. All family members were treated equal that was her motto. She was the toughest woman I knew besides my wife. I use to call mom the tough old French Woman. She was the glue that kept the family together. This last year was painful and a joy at the same time. I was able to spend countless hours over the last year and talk about all of the happy and sad memories. Although mom's health was failing she still was witty and we were able to share stories from the past. The most precious moment would be at the end of the day when I would say goodbye to mom. I wish for nothing more than just one more day for I would give it all to hear her say
