Don and I had a special relationship. When he was in the Navy, I was still a kid, and collected post cards. He sent them to me from wherever he was in the world. We were at a family gathering, and I was about to graduate from high school. I told him I' was going to join the Navy, and he said "don't do it." Another cousin was there who had been in the Air Force; he said you'll love the Air Force, so I took Don, and my other cousin's advice and went with the Air Force. Happily, years later Don and I reconnected. I was happy to share with him some of the family genealogy for which I've done extensive research. Not too long ago, a neighbor/friend was in FL, staying at the same complex, and had lunch with Don and Arline, not knowing that I knew either of them, until the friend said to Don he was from Braintree. Don said the only person he knew in Braintree was Ron F. You never know! The friend reported that Don was a great guy; but of course I already knew that. I'm sure my mother, he, and Aunt Blanche are all enjoying time together with all of the rest of the family. But for those of us left behind, my deepest condolences.

Fond remembrances of us upping together. RIP, Don. Rest well. See you in heaven.
