I never got to meet you in person yet always had that dream of someday getting that chance Now with your passing that will never happen. Thank you for starting special olympics it changed my life forever. May you rest in peace

I inherited a book titled Times to Remember by Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. Inside the book Eunice Kennedy Shriver wrote "On behalf of my Mother, thank you for your interest and concern for the mentally retarded. Through Special Olympics all of us can help them grow stronger in spirit, body and mind." We have several friends who have children with special needs who I know are very appreciative of the hard work and caring Eunice gave to empower these children.

My life of s.o. from the age of 8 till now was dedicated to you. You opened up a awsome program for people with disabilities. Thank u for letting me you in 1999 world games in north Carolina. Thank u for letting me and tons of people experience special Olympics in their lives. My personal words are I didn't get time to say goodbye to a wonderful person. My prayers are with you and your family. Sean so fl,nh,me,ma.
