A remarkable woman who gave some of the most special citizens of the world an avenue to feel appreciated and loved while they are able to fulfill their dreams and achieve satisfaction through sports. When others put them down Mrs Shriver showed the world how to lift them up. As a volunteer with Special Olympics Trinidad & Tobago for the past twenty-six years I say on behalf of all Special Olympics athletes and volunteers thank you Lord for allowing this wonderful lady to have been given the vision to start Special Olympics. She was truly a blessing to all of us and her legacy will live on forever. May her soul continue to rest in peace.

I met Mrs Shriver in 1986 in the City of Worcester. She began the official Play to Grow group along with my old friend Caroline Duffy. These two women were the original inclusion specialists. Noone ever had to tell themwhat to do to include everyone in to life, they just followed their hearts and did what was right.
