Dear Deykins,
The news about Eva was enormously sad and surprising. I have been away so I learned late and have been thinking about her and remembering our early days together. The time we spent in your kitchen with the children playing, and the over the fence neighborhood conversations we all had together. I know how hard it is to lose the person you all love so much and to find solace and peace again. The memories remain vibrant and comforting. Eva was a very special person to all who knew her.
With much love,
Carol Nadelson

To Dan and Eva's family,

All of us in the Cape Ann Sunday Morning Hiking Group were shocked and saddened to hear of Eva's passing. She was so vibrant and full of life when we last saw her on the trails just a few months ago determined as ever to keep hiking. We will miss her company but will always remember her intelligence, sense of humor, and strong spirit and above all, her warm personality and all the great conversations as we walked through the woods.

Here are a few comments from her Cape Ann friends, on hearing the sad news:

I'm so sorry to hear about Eva. She was one in a million. We walked many miles in the woods talking of everything under the sun. She'll be missed. -- Gerre Wescott

Eva was a lovely person. Gerre and Eva and I used to walk together as the three of us began to slow downWe had many great conversations. Marge Soriano

So sad Eva was a lovely lady Jacki Kronenberg

May her memory be a blessing. Phil Schwarz

All of us send you our deepest condolences.
