VAN HOOK, Evelyn Campbell 99, was born December 25, 1913, in Eddystone, South Carolina to the late William H. and Agnes Williams Campbell. The Lord called her home: February 3, 2013. Mrs. Van Hook moved to Brimfield, MA in the 1940s from New York City. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Van Hook moved to Everett, MA to live with her granddaughter, Lorraine Thorne, in 2007. It was then she became a member of the Mission Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. At the age of 96 she was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ, on Easter April 4, 2010. She was filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues on September 27, 2011. In spite of her age and illness, she was a member of the Golden Age Guild. Mother Van Hook loved music she hummed often and could be seen tapping her feet, clapping her hands and singing hymns she knew, in worship services. Little children always brought a smile and a "hello" to her face. Evelyn is survived by 1 daughter, 2 brothers, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mission Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 130 Highland Ave., Somerville. A calling hour will be from 6:00 - 7:00 in the church. Burial will be Wednesday, February 13 at 11:00 a.m. in Brimfield Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
