When I tried to search his book of High Frequency Switching Power supply I realized that he passed away many years ago. It is a great book with great knowledge in his writing. I use it as reference from time to time at my work place. Actually, I designed a switching converter to use in Calipso laser based on the teaching in this book; and this design has been working in space 24/7 since 2006. Great book and it is easy to understand.

I learned about George when I read his article American Philhellenes and the Greek War for Independence this Memorial Day. Intrigued, I looked him up and found more about this remarkable Greek-American businessman, author, poet, and philanthropist. I also found he passed away two years earlier.

I am sorry I missed the opportunity to meet you in life George, but I am happy I found you in all your wonderful writings and accomplishments you left behind.

May his memory be eternal.

Margo and Family,

For some reason I woke up this morning thinking about George. He weaved in and out of my life for many years, always with a smile and a kind word. He was what the Jews call a mensch. I think of him as a role model by virtue of his enormous grace and dignity. He changed my life -- more than once -- but I doubt he knew that, and I regret that I never got to tell him so. I'm certain that his grace and dignity will live on through his family. As sad as you must be that he is gone, how lucky you were to have had him! God Bless and be well.

I was the first student to meet President Chryssis when he came in to interview for the job and I will always remember his words of wisdom and caring. I am deeply sorry for your loss. He will be missed!!
