Dearest George,
I didn't even know you passed away until someone around the Pond told as I was asking about you. Since I moved to Natick I rarely go to our Pond but I always think of you there. You are the one who taught me how to feed the ducks by hand. And we had so much fun for the 15 years I have known you. I still remember your parakeet and your amazing collection of classical music you showed me when I visited in your apartment. It was also a surprise when you came for dinner at my house and you were reciting poetry to Eugenie. I miss you and I will always do. Your friend Veronique Mendelson

Sorry to hear of the passing of you dad. He was a wonderful man with an awesome way about him. He would always stop and talk for a while even to a little neiborhood kid like myself. Made me feel special.

The world is an emptier place for me now that Mr Younis is not walking on it. He would want me to call him George. But I always see him as Yvonne's dad so he deserves more respect than that. I will always remember the dashing image of the fencer, the tidy, gemutlich apartment. I also remember the fiestiness. All the geese at Jamaica pond came running when they saw him and nobody was going to tell him not to feed them! Rest in peace Mr. Younis.

This world is that much emptier now that Mr. Younis is no longer walking on it. He wanted me to call him George But I knew him always as Yvonne's father so he deserved more respect than that. He kept himself, his apartment and his pets with dignity. I also remember how all the geese in Jamaica pond knew him and nobody wants going to tell him not to feed them! He will be missed.
