Auntie Kay and family sorry for your loss. Uncle Gene was always good to my bother and me. I remembering him coming home from work wearing the red t shirt with CCCP in gold lettering. All of this during the Cold War. He would sometimes call me Eric the Red, somehow that always made me feel good. Never had bad word to say to me even if I deserve it. Eric West and family
to my boyhood buddy...you will always be missed...usher at my wedding...rest in peace...Don Hurst
Aunt Kay and family, I'm so sorry to hear about Uncle Gene, and my thoughts and prayers are with you and with him. Some of my favorite memories are the years spent round the table listening to my Uncle Gene debate politics with his family and hearing him teach me about how the world "really" works. I'm sure some of my legal argument skills and training first began by observing & learning from his skilled arguments with my grandmother! I also remember fondly how he'd bring my brother and me reams of extra, blank newsprint so that we could create our own artwork and mini-newspapers. And, I remember his EXTREME generosity to all of us nieces and nephews on every birthday, holiday, and special time in our lives. How excited we were for that crisp $20 bill in the Christmas card from Uncle Gene, as a kid! All of those $20's added up to a downpayment on my first car, and I was quick to credit my Uncle Gene's generosity over the years in helping me to save towards it. He will be greatly missed. Love, Marianne McLaughlin Downing

I worked with Gene many years, in Boston and Billerica. Always easy to laugh, hardly ever saw him get mad. He had a great sense of humor. Rest In Peace, my friend.
