I am very sorry to hear of Ted's passing and my thoughts are with his family and close friends. I had the opportunity to chat and exchange e-mails with Ted over the past three years after acquiring a boat Ted designed and built in 1966. Ted recalled the boat clearly and was generous with his time and thoughts about my plans to restore this beautiful racing vessel. Siren Song has many of the innovations which made him the sailing legend he became as well as the original sails which I still race with...a testiment to his commitment to our sport.

Innovative, dedicated to our sport, and generous.

Ted Hood will be missed.

To the entire Hood Family
I was very sad to read of Ted's passing...I worked for him in the early 70's and his nephew Chris a few years ago..he was a great man and I love how all the old timers that work on the water in Marblehead still refer to it, if looking for a mooring..over in front of Ted Hoods house. He's left a great legacy
