Not many are aware of the deep sacrifices that Howard and others of his generation made so that we can live our lives the way we do today. Surely the world would be quite a different place if people like Howard did not step up and serve our country. My grandfather also served in the 4th Marines in Saipan, Tinian and Iwo. I wonder if he and Howard ever crossed paths.

May the family of Mr. Whittaker take comfort in the happy memories they have of him and may he rest in peace.

Thank you to the Whittaker family for the opportunity and the pleasure of taking care of Howard and hopefully providing him with some comfort in his last days. He had a great sense of humor and I had a great respect for him. Peace to you all.
