I was so sad to hear Kathy had died when I read the news in the McGill Alumni News. And shocked. It brought back a flood of memories of the years of friendship when were at McGill. Phoning home on Friday afternoons (her night to cook) to check in with Mom for a recipe. The visit of the family setter to Montreal. Sharing the rides back home. Trying to figure out what was wrong with the car radiator because we didn't know any mechanics in Montreal. Meeting the family and her friends. We were lucky to re-connect when she was studying at BUMS a few years later. Her friendship was steady as a rock. My condolences to the family, hoping the time when memories might also bring some laughter as well as tears is soon to come.
I am truly saddened to hear about Kathy's passing. She was a wonderful teacher and mentor during my time at BCH. I will never forget her lessons of kindness and excellence in patient care; I try my best to live them and pass them on everyday. My thoughts and prayers to her family and friends. We have truly lost a great woman.
I am saddened to read in the most recent BUSM Newsletter about the passing of Kathy Bennett. She was a great mentor to me while I was a medical student and subsequently a resident at BCH. She inspired me to be a caring and thorough doctor and to maintain a good sense of humor in the process. I am so very sorry for your loss. She was a very special person.
You will never find a better, more caring person.Kathy would always find the time to listen to your difficulty.
She was helpful when my dad was going through health problems.
Sharon you were a great friend to Kathy. My time at BMCHP was great because of Kathy.
Kathy was such a class act......she will be missed. We could all learn from her, she was so kind to everyone.
With much respect, Cheryl Patton
I worked with Kathy at NHP. I loved and respected her. She was an amazing woman.
I will never forget Kathy Bennett, MD. She was my teacher, my colleague and a friend. When I was a medical student from SUNY-Syracuse rotating at the Boston City Hospital, she was a medical intern and the hardest worker. She was an inspiration that I ended up coming to BCH to do my residency. I have a Spanish accent and whenever i had trouble pronouncing a word she would tell me that she had a Boston accent and that this should never be a problem as long as I work diligently as a medical resident and as a physician. I learned of her passing today and my heart is broken. I will never forget her, she was a wonderful woman and wherever she is she will always be an inspiration for me. rest in Peace my beloved sister and travel well. I will always miss you.
I am so sorry for you loss and the world's loss of such a wonderful soul. She accomplished so much in her life and the loved ones she leaves is a testimony to her life here on earth. Kathy suggested to me years ago to quit saving change and start saving dollar bills. Well I have not stopped since that time!!! And I have passed on her idea to many!!! I suppose she was needed somewhere else more than here. Will miss knowing she was here somewhere to reconnect with at any time.
Dr. Bennett was the best boss I've ever had, she was a very special person. Her kindness and compassion will always be remembered. May your soul rest in peace Dr. Bennett. My sympathies to Sharon and the family.

Kathy was a role model to us all. She was my assistant and then full residency program director at BCH. I loved her plain speak and easy laugh. A wonderful soul. She will be missed. I'm sorry to be out of town so that I cannot make the funeral services. My sympathies to the family
I remember Kathy well from back in our McGill days. What a fun, energetic, loving person. I am truly saddened...

I had the privilege of working with Kathy when she was a resident and as an attending. I always had the highest respect for her. She was an excellent teacher and physician who delivered exceptional care to all her patients.
To Kathy's Family
Kathy was a role model, mentor and friend. She lives on in the thousands of lives she touched. If we can only draw a little of Kathy into each of us and do the things she would have done, the world will be a better place.
Dearest Kathy - How long have we known you? Almost four decades? We remember watching you become who you are as you made your decision about medical school. And all those days and nights of work with so little sleep. You were a guiding spirit to so many people. We remember those beach vacations in North carolina and your golf swing is probably still the same. We miss you but we know God is smiling as one of his rosebuds is now blooming in heaven. We will see you again.
