When I reflect on my earliest memory of Leah, it takes me back to the Bronx in Grandma Rose's apartment of which she recently came back to live. David introduced me to both Leah and grandma Rose; I think I was all of 18 at the time but I knew that I was in love with her nephew, and that he was in love with me. As it was just the beginning of my life with the family it was so important to David that I meet his beloved grandmother as she was the driving force, the matriarch, and her life and energy was so prominent and true. I was so honored to be presented to both Leah and Rose, but moreover I was taken by Leah's presence, filled with strength, serenity and kindness. She gave me a bottle of perfume; I think it was called ‘Moscow Nights' and it was delightful., I want to express that as with our first meeting all those years ago, Leah has been a true presence of loving kindness and I will hold closely the image of her radiant grace and solid determination; one that has served us so well as it is apparent how much she was loved by her children, grandchildren and family.
