I have nothing but happy memories of your dad. He was always so sweet to me and always had a great smile. Did not realize he had passed; I would have loved to pay respects to your family. Thinking of all of you fondly. Dorothy Matanes Cicchetti
I'm going to miss the times I went to his house to restore his heat. He was firm on the outside but you could see right through how nice and appreciative he was inside. I' ll miss him.... a good man all around.
To the Callanan Family. You were always an amazing family to me. Paul, was truly a "guys" guy, yet a gentle head of the family. I will always remember my visits to see Paula in high school and wondering how I would be received and Paul would always give me that huge smile and strong handshake that always made me feel welcomed. Two years ago, after 30 Plus years, I bumped into Paul at the Canton CVS and saw "that" great presence and I as we shook hands, his strength was still powerful. This past July, I was able to spend a beautiful Sunday morning with Paul and saw how sharp and quick wit he still was as we had many laughs over a few "mimosas." To Fran, Jane, Paula, Chad and Andrea; I know these are sad times, but your dad lives through you in a very great and special way! To Ginny my prayers and thoughts are with you and I can't wait to see you all here in sunny Naples!! God Bless You all!!
Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.
I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Callanan's passing. I remember him well from the halls of Canton High! My thoughts and prayers are with your family
To the Callanan Family, I am so sorry to hear of "Uncle Whitey's" passing. He was a frequent guest at our barbecues when I was a kid in West Roxbury, always arriving with my Uncle Dick McCann. He always had time for us kids and would gather us together for ghost stories. With his engaging personality and flashing good looks, he was the first crush I even had! We were always excited to have him come to the house. I'm certainly glad to have had him in the lives of me & sibs & cousins growing up. He was so warm and just so much fun!
Fran and Family,
I just happened to see the notice of your Father's death. I'm sorry you have to say good-bye to him and I hope he was at peace.
The Lynch kids loved Uncle Whitey too. Always a font of practical wisdom, and fun, he gave me great advice when I decided to switch careers and become a teacher. At CHS for 9 years now, I often recall his words of guidance. I'm am sorry for your loss.
I am very sorry to learn that Paul passed away. He had such a profound and positive influence on my life. He was always kind, appreciated me for who I was, and stood up for me at very crucial moments. He had a strength of character and sense of compassion that really enriched the lives of others.
This must be a hard time for all of you. Paul was such a force of nature and you must miss him immensely. My heart goes out to all of you.
Paul was known as "Uncle Whitey" to me and my 8 siblings as he was literally "family" to us. Growing up just down the street, and attending CHS, I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours with Uncle Whitey. We played golf matches when I was in middle school where if he won, I had to mow his lawn, and if I won, I got $5! Somehow, he always managed to sneak a few bucks in my pocket and made me feel special. I can honestly say that no person has ever had a bigger impact on my life in terms of truly embracing the credo of "Carpe Diem", he was a real life Dead Poet's Society. I will be forever grateful for being a small part of Uncle Whitey's life and can only hope to "pay forward" the amazing lessons he taught me. My time with him was amazingly energized, he made you feel alive in a way that only those that knew him can grasp. I love you Uncle Whitey. Timmy Murphy
I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Callanan's passing. As a former member of the CHS golf team I have many happy memories of him driving us from match to match and playing numerous practice rounds with him.
Fran: I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I'll always remember him at your wedding....jitter-bugging! What a great dancer.
To the Callanan Family, I was saddened to learn of Mr Callanan's passing. I will always remember him from Canton HS. He is a great man who cared very much about the students...Rest in Peace Sir...
To the Callanan family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. C. He was a great man and will be sorely missed.
Dear Callanans, I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Our families, and the other close Canton friends of my parents, have been entwined socially for so many years, it has always felt like we are related in ways that go beyond genetic lines. Paul certainly was a piece of work, a complex man, a true original. His love of and loyalty to my parents, and my sisters and I, as well as Virginia's, and my parent's love of and loyalty to the Callanans has always been one of the bedrock elements of the John and Jo Morgan family history. I am glad to have had the experience of Paul in my life since childhood. He meant a lot to us. He meant a lot to me. I send you my very best, Jason Morgan
To the family..... Paul was a dedicated educator who cared about each student who was fortunate enough to know him. As Superintended of Schools in Canton,I had great admiration for his caring and service . Although it has been many years, I remember him well as a kind, gracious and devoted educator. My condolences to the family.
